GRANDPARENTS, AS ONE OF THE BEST MEMORIES OF SYLVIA'S CHILDHOOD

It is a short story about how people leave trails on other people's lives and what is to be brought up by strong personalities.

One spring day, a girl was born in 1986. Her parents called her Sylvia. She could not walk, move, or speak like others. She was born weak and had stuttering problems. Fortunately, she had two childhood heroes-friends, her grandparents, on his mother's side. Both of them, George and Sevilla, did a lot for her. During her childhood, they inspired her to overcome all her weaknesses and difficulties without giving up. They made her do a lot of physical exercises despite her physical condition. She became strong physically because of them and their motivation.

George was a powerful man with a cross tattoo on his right arm and an eagle on his chest. There were many stories about his physical strength. She always loved and relied on her legendary grandfather. Her aunts always told her about him with great pride. He was unbreakable and one of the strongest people in their neighborhood. He could smile when he saw her beloved granddaughter and surprised her with fancy gifts. As for weekends, he presented her with a small moving fish when she had to return home to her parents. But she never wanted to leave her grandparents. She loved her parents but had strong emotional bonds with her grandparents, especially with her grandfather.

As always, such strong people lead a difficult life. His life was not an exception. He had spent a part of his youth in prison, but he was an innocent and kind-hearted man. He had been a prisoner because of the corrupted system of that time. After all, he was full of positivity. Even being small, Sylvia was sensitive and could feel his covered deep pain. Most of the time, he listened to the saddest tunes on the radio, and she followed her example not to leave him alone. Thus, her grandfather was strong, with deep sadness in his heart. Who knows how much he had suffered in his life?

Her grandmother was also a warrior whose life did not pass easily either. Though Sylvia had stuttering problems, her grandmother made her learn a thousand poems by heart with her great love. It became one of her favorite activities. Based on her medical condition, it was a miracle that she could catch them so quickly. Of course, her communicative and emotional bond with her grandmother gave her more confidence to do her best.

After years, when she was already nine years old, everything changed. She was too young to understand what was going on, but her best friend, her legendary grandfather, was dying in front of her eyes because of a severe illness. Unfortunately, she was too young to understand what mortality was and why his grandfather should hurry somewhere.

After 27 years, her legendary grandmother, who continuously inspired her for her achievements, also passed away.

The most essential thing in life is always to help others in their difficulties, as did Sylvia's grandfather and grandmother, whom she will remember with warm memories and gratitude.
